School Closure Announcements

In the event of school closures due to inclement weather, Webb City School District will notify families as promptly as possible.

How We Communicate Closures

We will share closure announcements through multiple channels to ensure you stay informed:

  • ParentSquare: Notifications via email, text, phone, or app.

  • District Website and Social Media: Follow us on our official social media accounts, @WebbCitySD.

  • Local News Stations: Tune in to KSN/KODE or KOAM for updates.

Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Days

Webb City School District is approved to use up to six (6) Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) days during short-term closures, such as snow days. On AMI days, students will engage in learning through virtual assignments or hard-copy materials provided by teachers. These days count toward the school calendar, eliminating the need to extend the school year unless we exceed six closure days. If more than six days are missed, additional days will be added to the end of the school year.

What to Expect on AMI Days

  • Assignments: Students will receive assignments from their teachers, which may include online tasks, packets, or workbooks.

  • Communication: Teachers will share AMI day expectations and assignments via ParentSquare (for parents), StudentSquare (for students), Canvas (for students 7-12), and packets that have been previously sent home. Students are required to complete these assignments to be counted as present for the day.

  • Teacher Support: Teachers will be available to respond to questions from parents and students on AMI days.

How Parents Can Help

To support your child’s success on AMI days:

  • Provide a quiet, distraction-free space for your child to complete their assignments.

  • Ensure assignments are completed and submitted on time.

Thank you for your partnership in supporting your child’s education. We’re committed to keeping you informed and ensuring continuity of learning during unexpected closures!
