Mrs. Grace (Steel) Woodward

Daughter of John & Dora Steele. Dora Steele was the first female to serve on the Webb City School District Board of Education, 1921-1927

Attended University of Tulsa School of Journalism where she began her career as a writer by selling a term paper to the Tulsa World.

Highly involved in research about the history of Native Americans first in the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa and later at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C., and the British Museum leading to the publication of the following books: The Man Who Conquered Pain, The Cherokees, Pocahontas, The Secret of Sherwood Forrest
